An established UK infrastructure services provider is seeking an experienced Head of Operations to lead the end-to-end operational delivery of its gas, water and power projects across the UK. The postholder will provide clear ownership across mobilisation, execution and close-out of day services, projects, frameworks and specialist works, ensuring consistent standards, strong cost control and predictable performance across regions. Key responsibilities include:- * Ensure works are delivered safely, compliantly, on time and within agreed commercial scope. * Act as the senior operational escalation point for delivery and customer issues. * Lead short, medium and long-term operational planning. * Oversee effective deployment of technicians, supervisors, plant and specialist equipment. * Reduce reactive delivery through structured scheduling and coordination. * Maintain consistent delivery standards across regions and work types. * Provide governance oversight across frameworks, programmes and major projects. * Ensure effective handover from bid/commercial award into delivery. * Chair programme and delivery review meetings, monitoring risks, variations and recovery actions. * Ensure operational teams understand contractual scope and commercial boundaries. * Maintain compliance with gas and water industry standards, client procedures, framework requirements and internal governance processes. * Foster effective working relationships with key customers and framework partners. * Drive collaboration across operations, programme, customer support, commercial and group functions. * Identify inefficiencies and standardise processes to reduce reliance on individuals. * Improve reporting, documentation and communication consistency. * Support operational readiness for growth within AMP and RIIO regulatory environments. Our client is looking for someone who has the following experience:- * Senior operational leadership experience within utilities, infrastructure or civils. * Experience managing field-based, multi-disciplinary delivery teams. * Proven commercial awareness with responsibility for operational cost control and margin performance. * Experience planning, governing and delivering work within regulated environments. * Confident communicator able to operate effectively at site, customer and senior management level. * Knowledge of AMP and RIIO regulatory frameworks (desirable) * Understanding of NEC3 / NEC4 contract environments (desirable) This role offers the opportunity to shape and lead a nationally delivered operational function, driving performance, safety and commercial excellence across a growing and technically specialist infrastructure business
