Senior Highways Designer

Senior Highways Engineer Birmingham/Manchester/London £45,000 - £55,000 I’m currently working on behalf of a specialist transport planning consultancy that is looking to expand their team by bringing in a Senior Highways Engineer. The company offers transportation planning, highway infrastructure design, drainage engineering and flood risk assessment services. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced highways professional to play a key role in delivering development-led infrastructure projects within a highly collaborative environment. The consultancy operates primarily in the private sector, supporting a diverse client base including major developers, landowners, housebuilders, retailers and institutional organisations. The Role The successful candidate will contribute to the design and delivery of highway schemes across a varied project portfolio. Responsibilities include: • Applying DMRB, MfS1 & 2 and LTN 1/20 standards • Preparing engineering drawings, calculations and reports • Designing using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoTrack and MicroDrainage • Managing Section 278 & Section 38 agreements • Coordinating utility diversions and stakeholder inputs • Supporting risk assessments, road safety audits and optioneering  • Client liaison, project coordination and fee proposal preparation The Candidate • 5+ years’ experience in development-focused highway design • Civil or Highway Engineering background • Working towards or holding ICE/CIHT membership • Strong technical capability with excellent communication skills  • Proactive approach with attention to detail The Package • Competitive salary (DOE) • 25 days’ annual leave (increasing with seniority) • Flexible working arrangements • Private medical insurance & health cash plan • Enhanced pension scheme • Life assurance & critical illness cover  • Discretionary annual bonus For a confidential discussion about this opportunity, please apply now or email
