Design Manager – Create Exceptional Buildings in Extraordinary Places An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Design Manager to join a growing Highland construction business delivering high-end bespoke residential projects in some of Scotland’s most spectacular locations. This is not a desk-bound design role. This is a senior leadership position combining design excellence, commercial awareness and hands-on project delivery — shaping the future of a progressive family-run business. The Opportunity You will: * Lead design direction across multiple bespoke and high-end residential projects * Manage projects through all RIBA stages * Oversee technical production and coordination * Maintain design integrity throughout construction * Mentor and lead an internal design team * Work closely with the business owner to influence strategic growth * Travel across remote Highland locations (including islands) What We’re Looking For * 8–10+ years’ architectural / design leadership experience * Strong portfolio of high-quality, buildable design * Commercial awareness and programme control experience * Knowledge of Scottish construction methods and contracts * Confident leadership and decision-making ability * Full UK driving licence The Right Person You’ll thrive here if you: * Care deeply about craftsmanship and detail * Enjoy autonomy and accountability * Prefer entrepreneurial environments over corporate structures * Want to help shape a growing business Career Progression Clear pathway to Associate Director with potential shareholding based on agreed milestones
