Field Service Engineer - VSD

Role: Field Service Engineer Location: Field Based Salary: Up to £45,000 Depending on experience My client is looking for a skilled Field Service Engineer with proven experience working with Variable Speed Drives to join their busy engineering team. This is a field-based role covering, supporting customers across industrial and commercial environments. You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, fault-finding, maintenance, and repair of VSD systems and associated electrical/mechanical equipment. Responsibilities include: Installation and commissioning of VSDs across various industrial applications Fault-finding and diagnostics on drive systems and associated equipment Carry out planned preventative maintenance Provide on-site technical support and problem resolution Parameter setting and optimisation of drive systems Work with motors, control panels, and PLC systems Complete service reports and documentation accurately Ensure compliance with health & safety standards Participate in on-call rota Skills and Experience: Proven experience working with Variable Speed Drives Strong electrical fault-finding skills Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics Experience commissioning and programming drive systems Relevant electrical qualification - NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, 18th Edition preferred Full UK driving licence Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively Experience with major drive manufacturers (e.g., ABB, Danfoss, Siemens, Schneider) Knowledge of PLC systems and automationWR Engineering are the #1 recruitment partner for engineering, manufacturing & technical sales jobs.
