Job Title: Competent Person (Civil Operative - NSI 6 & 8 / HSG 47) Location: Pembroke 400kV Substation, Pembroke, UK Project: Pembroke Extension Contract Type: Temporary Start Date: 09/03/2026 End Date: 28/08/2026 Hours: 45 per week (07:30 - 17:30) Rate: £30 per hour (Umbrella) The Role: We are seeking an experienced Competent Person (Civil Operative) to join the team on the Pembroke 400kV Substation project. This role is critical for ensuring the safe management of personnel, vehicles, and plant on a live high-voltage substation environment. The position requires someone with proven experience in substation civil works and National Grid safety procedures. Key Responsibilities: Act as Competent Person in line with NSI 6 & NSI 8 requirements Manage safe access and egress for delivery vehicles and plant to the substation Ensure all activities comply with National Grid NSI Safety Rules Maintain safety and control for all groundworks activities on site Assist with general civil operative duties as required Uphold all health, safety, and environmental standards on siteEssential Requirements: Valid Competent Person NSI 6 & NSI 8 certifications HSG 47 Substation qualification Manual Handling certification Experience managing live HV substation access and civil operations Must hold full PPE before attending site Candidates who do not meet the essential criteria will not be considered.Additional Information: Temporary full-time contract 45 hours per week, 07:30 - 17:30 Umbrella payment structure IR35 pre-assessment completed CV required for submission 1 position available If you are a qualified Competent Person with National Grid experience and are available for this contract, please submit your CV and certification documents for immediate consideration.
