What They Are Looking For They are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Galway-based commercial team, reporting directly to the Commercial Lead. The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of local transport and civil infrastructure projects across the region. This hire is driven by continued project awards and sustained regional growth. The role will involve full lifecycle commercial management—from cost planning and procurement through to final accounts—while ensuring compliance with Public Works Contracts and maintaining commercial control across live sites. The ideal candidate will have 6–7 years’ post-graduate experience within the Irish civil contracting market. You will be commercially astute, confident managing subcontractors and capable of operating independently while contributing to a collaborative project team environment. Responsibilities * Manage full commercial lifecycle of civil and transport projects * Prepare and manage cost plans, budgets and financial forecasts * Administer and manage contracts under Public Works Contracts frameworks * Oversee procurement and subcontractor negotiation * Manage variations, change control and risk mitigation * Prepare and present monthly CVRs and commercial reports * Monitor project cashflow and cost performance * Lead final accounts and subcontractor settlements * Liaise closely with site teams, engineers and project managers * Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships Criteria for the Role * 6–7 years’ post-graduate experience within civil contracting in Ireland * Strong experience in civil infrastructure and transport projects * Proven exposure to Public Works Contracts * Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline * Strong commercial awareness and cost control capability * Experience managing subcontractor packages independently * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills * Ambition to progress within a structured commercial environment What’s On Offer * Salary circa €70,000 * Company vehicle or fuel card provided * 100% of professional membership fees and CPD fully covered * Strong pipeline of regional civil infrastructure projects * Clear progression pathway within an established commercial structure
