Maintenance Engineer | Industrial / Mechanical Engineering | Colchester | Up to £39,000 4-on, 4-off day shifts + overtime About the Role We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established FMCG business near Colchester. This is a practical role in a busy production environment, maintaining and optimising machinery to ensure production targets and product quality are consistently met. You will work on equipment such as: Multi-head weighers Bagging machines Graders Conveyors Pneumatics and sensors Your main responsibilities will include: Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults across production machinery Carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules Supporting small engineering projects and site improvements Occasionally assisting with facilities maintenance Ensuring all machinery meets uptime, safety, and hygiene standards Full training on specific packaging machinery will be provided, but previous industrial or factory maintenance experience is essential. About You We are looking for a hands-on Maintenance Engineer with: Strong mechanical knowledge and experience working in a production or industrial environment Confidence using hand tools and carrying out mechanical fault-finding Experience with reactive breakdown maintenance and preventive maintenance Electrical, welding, or fabrication skills (desirable but not essential) Commutable to Colchester and able to work 4-on, 4-off shifts Candidates from automotive, plant, agricultural, or general industrial backgrounds with strong mechanical aptitude are welcome to apply.
