This opportunity is ideal for an experienced technical pre-sales leader who enjoys operating in a customer-facing environment and combining hands-on technical engagement with strategic leadership and team development. The Role: Head of Solutions Architecture As Head of Solutions Architecture, you will lead the Solutions Engineering function and act as the senior technical authority supporting the commercial organisation. You will engage closely with customers to understand their business challenges, identify opportunities, and design value-led solutions that clearly articulate commercial and technical outcomes. The role is highly customer-centric, involving regular participation in client meetings, workshops, webinars, and industry events, while working in close partnership with sales leadership. You will also mentor and develop an established team of Solutions Engineers, setting the benchmark for technical excellence, customer engagement, and best practice. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this position is central to the organisation’s growth strategy and offers significant scope for influence, impact, and career progression. Key Responsibilities: Head of Solutions Architecture Lead, mentor, and develop the Solutions Engineering team, providing both strategic direction and operational leadership Deliver high-quality technical pre-sales support to new and existing customers Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the full sales lifecycle Partner with sales teams across discovery, qualification, and solution design Deliver compelling product demonstrations, presentations, webinars, and customer workshops Design and execute tailored demonstrations and Proofs of Concept (POCs) Evaluate competing technologies and recommend best-fit solutions aligned to client requirements Own solution architecture and contribute to proposals, scopes of work, and tender responsesSkills & Experience: Head of Solutions Architecture Essential: Head of Solutions Architecture Proven experience in a senior Technical Pre-Sales Engineer or Solutions Architect role Background within an IT MSP or VAR environment Broad technical knowledge across IT infrastructure and security Strong customer-facing experience within pre-sales, consultancy, or technical delivery Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills Highly proactive, self-motivated, and driven to deliver exceptional standards Willingness to travel nationally as required Strong written documentation skills (proposals, tenders, customer documentation) Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UKDesirable: Head of Solutions Architecture Previous experience leading or managing a technical or pre-sales team Certifications or hands-on experience across enterprise technologies (e.g., networking, security, virtualisation, Microsoft Azure/M365) Experience presenting to both small and large audiences, including webinars and workshops Evidence of technical thought leadership or content creation Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance technical depth and business value Excellent organisational and relationship-building skillsWhat’s on Offer: Head of Solutions Architecture Competitive salary with performance-related bonus 25+ days annual leave plus bank holidays (increasing with service) Flexible and hybrid working options Private medical insurance Healthcare cash plan Discounted gym membership Cycle-to-work scheme Electric vehicle scheme Paid charity day Free onsite parkingInterested?  Contact Kylie on (phone number removed) for a confidential discussion
