Process Instrument Design Engineer Location - Minimum 3 days per week on site in Warrington, Cheshire Hours - 37 hours per week over 4½ days Rate £50-65 per hour (Umbrella PAYE) - Inside IR35 Duration 12 months + The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Process Instrument Design Engineer to join the Silos PFCS Supporting Projects E&I design team. You will deliver and check high-quality engineering design packages to ensure safety, functional and business requirements are met across the full project lifecycle — from concept design through to handover. This is a key role supporting a major UK nuclear decommissioning programme within a highly regulated environment. Key Responsibilities Deliver and check Process Instrumentation design packages Work within a multidiscipline engineering team Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards Support Construction and Commissioning activities Provide mentorship and technical support to early career engineers Communicate effectively across disciplines and stakeholders Qualifications & Clearance HND (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status Current SC Security Clearance Experience & Skills Minimum 3 years’ experience delivering as a Process Instrument Design Engineer on external multidiscipline projects Experience from concept design through to handover Working knowledge of appropriate Engineering Standards Experience supporting Construction and Commissioning Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment Willingness to support and mentor junior engineers Desirable Experience Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Instrument and Safety Design Engineer Experience on external multidiscipline projects Working understanding of relevant Engineering Standards Experience with: Process Instruments Radiometric & Special Instruments Safety Systems Get in touch now If you're on the lookout for a new opportunity and think you have the experience and skills we are seeking then apply now or contact Stuart Cooper via LinkedIn.
