Controls Engineer

Empower Talent is recruiting a Controls Engineer for a large food manufacturing site in Glasgow. This is a hands-on role on a live production site - ideal for someone who enjoys being on the factory floor, solving problems, and improving how automated lines actually run. What you’ll be doing * Working with PLC, HMI and SCADA systems across high-speed production lines * Fault-finding and improving Rockwell / Allen-Bradley controlled equipment * Supporting shift engineers with automation issues and developing their capability * Identifying and delivering improvements to reliability, safety and output * Supporting commissioning and upgrades to existing machinery * Acting as the go-to person on site for more complex controls issues What we’re looking for * Experience in a Controls Engineer or automation-focused role within manufacturing * Strong working knowledge of Rockwell / Allen-Bradley PLCs (or similar with willingness to learn) * Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment * Hands-on approach - someone who enjoys fault finding and improving systems * Food/FMCG experience is ideal, but not essential Why this role? * Stable, long-term position on a large production site * Real ownership of automation and site improvements * Opportunity to step into (or further develop in) a Controls-focused role This role is being managed by Empower Talent.
