Waste Collection Driver (Temporary) - Scunthorpe Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:45-14:45 Pay Rate: £14.13 per hour Start: ASAP (subject to driving assessment) Location: Scunthorpe Type: Temporary We are recruiting a Waste Collection Driver to support local waste and recycling operations. Overall Purpose of the Job Driving a 7.5T vehicle to deliver and collect burgundy bins Monday to Friday, with potential overtime on Saturdays. Main Responsibilities Drive large refuse collection or stillage vehicles (HGV Class C) Operate bin‑lifting equipment and assist with safe handling of containers Complete daily vehicle checks Lead and support a small team of loaders Provide customer advice on waste and recycling Update in‑cab systems or complete paper records Manage contamination issues and ensure accurate documentation Skills & Experience HGV Class 2 licence Driver CPC and digital tachograph card Confident using IT and recording systems Strong communication skills Experience handling challenging situations Good manual handling awareness Ability to walk several miles per day Knowledge of the local area and waste services Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines Professional, tactful, and customer‑focused Application Process Apply with your CV If shortlisted, you will be asked to provide: Right to Work documents Two references Relevant driving licences
