Senior Architect Wanted Leadership Opportunity | Major Mixed-Sector Portfolio | South West A long-established, commercially successful architectural practice is seeking an experienced Senior Architect ready to take the next step into a Senior Director-level role. This is a genuine leadership opportunity for someone who combines strong design and delivery capability with commercial awareness and the ambition to help shape the strategic direction of a growing business. The Practice: The studio delivers a broad and substantial project portfolio across the South West and nationally, including: * Major multi-million commercial and mixed-use schemes. * Strategic regeneration opportunities linked to nationally significant infrastructure investment * Hospitality-led developments including large hotel and aparthotel proposals * Care home schemes at varying stages of planning and delivery * Ongoing partnerships with housing developers delivering residential-led schemes * Bespoke private dwellings including high-value, planning-sensitive one-off homes * Specialist defence and secure-sector projects Projects range from design-led residential developments to technically complex commercial and infrastructure-led schemes, often delivered in close collaboration with long-standing client partners. The Role: This position offers progression beyond traditional project delivery into studio leadership and strategic involvement. Key responsibilities include: * Leading large-scale projects from concept through to completion * Managing multidisciplinary consultant teams * Overseeing programme, risk and commercial performance * Contributing to business development and client relationship management * Supporting and mentoring senior and junior team members * Playing an active role in shaping the future direction of the practice About You * ARB registered Architect with significant UK project delivery experience * Proven experience delivering schemes exceeding £10m construction value * Strong background in residential, care, hospitality or commercial sectors * Comfortable leading client relationships and consultant coordination * Commercially aware with understanding of fee structures and project profitability * Ambitious and motivated to step into a senior leadership capacity * Based within commutable distance of the South West or willing to relocate. * Experience within secure, defence or technically complex environments would be advantageous but not essential.
