Topographical Surveyor – County Durham 📍 County Durham & North East 💰 £35,000 per annum 🕒 Full-time | Permanent Are you an experienced Topographical Surveyor looking for your next challenge? We’re working with a well-established land surveying company in County Durham that has a growing pipeline of exciting projects and is looking to appoint a hands-on Topographical Surveyor. This role offers a perfect balance of field surveying and CAD production, working primarily on residential developments, commercial sites, and infrastructure projects across Durham and the North East. No long-distance travel – most projects are local. Why This Role? ✔ Be part of a stable, growing company with a supportive surveying team ✔ Work on a variety of projects across residential, commercial, and infrastructure sectors ✔ Use modern surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS, and laser scanning ✔ Enjoy a mix of site work and CAD/office-based production ✔ Clear long-term career progression Key Responsibilities: * Carrying out detailed topographical surveys and land surveys * Using total stations, GPS, and (where applicable) laser scanning equipment * Processing survey data and producing accurate AutoCAD drawings * Delivering site plans, levels, contours, and utility information * Liaising directly with architects, engineers, developers, and private clients * Ensuring high-quality, accurate outputs What We’re Looking For: * Minimum 2 years’ experience in topographical or land surveying * Confident operating total station and GPS equipment * Strong AutoCAD skills * Experience working independently on site * Full UK driving licence * Excellent attention to detail and professional client manner Desirable: * Experience with point cloud / laser scan data * Surveying qualification (or working towards one) * Knowledge of utility or Land Registry–compliant plans What’s On Offer: ✔ £35,000 per annum ✔ Company vehicle or mileage allowance ✔ Mainly local projects – no extensive UK travel ✔ Stable workload and long-term role ✔ Supportive, experienced surveying team If you’re an ambitious Topographical Surveyor ready to take ownership of projects and grow your career, this is the role for you
