Social Worker – Children’s Social Work Team Salary: £38,476 – £41,956 DOE Location: Chatham, Kent (Hybrid Working) Contract: Full Time, Permanent Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence & access to own vehicle About the Role We are recruiting for a Children’s Social Worker to join a statutory Children’s Social Work Team supporting children and families requiring safeguarding intervention. You will manage a caseload of Child in Need and Child Protection cases, working directly with children and families to improve safety and long-term outcomes. The role includes assessment, planning, intervention and court work where required. You will work within a supportive team structure with regular reflective supervision and opportunities for continued professional development. Key Responsibilities Managing a statutory caseload of children and families Completing assessments, care plans and reviews Child Protection and Child in Need planning Direct work with children and young people Preparing reports for conferences, reviews and court proceedings Multi-agency working with police, schools and health professionals Maintaining accurate case recordings and documentation Applying relationship-based and strengths-based practice What We’re Looking For Essential Qualified Social Worker Social Work England registration Completed ASYE Experience working with children and families in a statutory setting Child protection or safeguarding experience Ability to complete assessments and court reports Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle Desirable Experience within safeguarding / assessment teams Signs of Safety knowledge (or willingness to train) Court work exposure Working Pattern Hybrid working Minimum 2 office days per week Flexible working arrangements available Why Apply?
