Temporary Receptionist - Medway Location: Medway Contract: Short-term temporary cover Start: ASAP DBS Check: Required (Enhanced DBS preferred) About the Role We are seeking a welcoming and highly organised Temporary Receptionist to provide front‑of‑house cover on a short‑term basis. This important role supports students, staff, and visitors by delivering a professional, friendly, and efficient reception service. Key Responsibilities Manage the reception area and act as the first point of contact for all visitors Operate the main telephone system, responding to enquiries and directing calls appropriately Maintain the visitor log, issue badges, and uphold safeguarding procedures at all times Handle all incoming and outgoing post Monitor the reception email account and respond or forward messages as required Distribute letters and text messages using Intouch Maintain the school/organisation calendar and coordinate room bookings Arrange hospitality for meetings and events Support health & safety and safeguarding compliance across front‑of‑house operations About You We're looking for someone who is: Professional, personable, and confident in a front‑facing role Highly organised with strong attention to detail Experienced in reception or administrative roles (education environment experience an advantage) Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment Confident using IT systems and communication tools Committed to safeguarding and maintaining confidentiality Requirements Enhanced DBS check (essential) Ability to start at short notice Availability for temporary cover (short-term) How to Apply If you're available immediately and interested in providing crucial reception support, please send your CV and availability details.
