Personal Assistant to Head Teacher

Job Title: Experienced Personal Assistant to the Headteacher (Temporary) Location: Hackney, East London Ofsted Rating: Good Start Date: Immediate Contract: Full-time, 3 weeks initially (potential extension) Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm (flexibility required outside these hours as needed) A well-established and highly regarded secondary school in Hackney, rated Good by Ofsted, is seeking an experienced and highly professional Personal Assistant to the Headteacher for an immediate start. This is a full-time temporary position for an initial 3-week period, with the possibility of extension. This is a pivotal role within the school, providing high-level administrative and organisational support to the Headteacher in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive PA support to the Headteacher Manage complex diaries, appointments, and communications Draft high-quality correspondence and reports on behalf of the Headteacher Take accurate minutes for Senior Leadership Team and Governing Body meetings Support with compliance documentation and reporting Liaise confidently with governors, staff, parents, local authorities, and external agencies Handle highly sensitive information with discretion and professionalism The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Proven experience as a PA or senior administrator (ideally within a school or education setting) Advanced IT skills, particularly Google Suite and school management systems such as SIMS and Arbor Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail, particularly in relation to compliance and formal documentation A professional, discreet, and trustworthy approach Resilience, flexibility, and the ability to adapt quickly This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced education-based PA looking for a short-term role within a supportive and ambitious school community.
