Field Service Engineer

Field Service Engineer (Agricultural & Plant Fitter) Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 (OTE £45,000+ with overtime & callouts) Location: St Clears, Wales Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 17:00 Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Benefits & Perks Overtime paid at 1.75x 1-in-4 weekend callout rota Company van for field engineering work, plus fuel card, tools & full PPE Pension scheme Ongoing manufacturer training across leading agricultural brands Exposure to a wide range of modern ag‑tech & plant systems Balanced 60/40 field-to-workshop split 20 days annual leave + bank holidays The Role As a Mobile Agricultural Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of agricultural machinery and supporting plant equipment. You’ll work on everything from tractors, telehandlers and balers to combines, sprayers, implements and on‑farm excavators. This is a varied role with a strong focus on field-based diagnostics, supporting farms across Wales to minimise downtime and keep machinery running during peak seasons. Your key responsibilities include: Responding to urgent on‑farm breakdowns and carrying out mechanical, hydraulic and electrical repairs Performing scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on agricultural machinery Diagnosing faults across engines, hydraulics, CANbus, PTO systems, transmissions and electrics Repairing and maintaining implements such as mowers, cultivators, trailers, balers and spreaders Completing service sheets, inspection forms and accurate maintenance reports Supporting workshop repairs including rebuilds, overhauls and pre-season machinery preparation Attending farm sites across Wales as part of the mobile service team What We’re Looking For Background as an Agricultural Engineer, Agricultural Fitter, Farm Machinery Technician or similar Strong understanding of agricultural machinery systems including hydraulics, diesel engines and electrical diagnostics Experience working with tractors, telehandlers, combines or modern ag‑tech systems Relevant industry qualifications (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / Apprenticeship or equivalent) Ability to work independently on both mobile and workshop-based engineering tasks Full UK Driving Licence Similar Roles: Agricultural Engineer, Farm Machinery Technician, Mobile Agricultural Fitter, Field Service Engineer, Plant & Agri Technician Interested?
