Teaching Assistant - SEN (Full Time) Location: Newham, East London Position: Teaching Assistant Contract: Full-time Start Date: September Pay: £1,700 - £2,100 per month Veritas Education are working with an academy trust in Newham looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) from September at the start of the new academic year. This is a full-time position, working 1:1 with a Reception pupil who has mild to high SEN needs and will be new to the school. Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant is highly desirable. Recent graduates with an interest in SEN, psychology or education are also encouraged to apply. Main Duties and Responsibilities - Teaching Assistant (SEN) Support for Pupils Provide 1:1 SEN support in Reception Support academic progress under the direction of the class teacher and Inclusion Lead Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour Deliver targeted 1:1 or small group interventions Build positive relationships and promote inclusion Support for Teachers Help create a structured, safe and supportive classroom environment Use agreed strategies to support learning goals Work closely with the teacher to organise and adapt learning activities Requirements Essential GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent) Experience supporting children in a school or SEN setting Desirable Degree (2:1 preferred) or equivalent Interest in SEN, psychology or child development If you are an experienced Teaching Assistant ready to take the next step in your career, we would love to hear from you.
