Production Welder Wellingborough Hours - Mon to Thurs (Apply online only), Fri (Apply online only) Salary - £35,769.65 pa - £17.20 ph An established and highly respected engineering manufacturer based in Wellingborough is seeking an experienced TIG & MIG Welder to join its production team. This is a permanent opportunity within a modern, high-technology manufacturing environment, working on precision-engineered instrumentation to exacting quality standards. You will join a skilled and qualified welding team, using a range of jigs, fixtures, welding plant, robotic welding cells, and manipulators to assemble and weld complex stainless-steel components. Key Responsibilities MIG and TIG welding of precision instrumentation to customer demand Set up, operate, and maintain a MIG robotic welding cell to the highest quality standards Train and qualify to weld across the full size and range of instruments Work across robot welding manufacturing, case bay tacking and welding, flange tacking, and coded flange welding Carry out associated assembly tasks including pressure testing and helium leak testing Support production engineering with shop-floor documentation Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in line with housekeeping and safety standards Support customer inspection activities Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and new production methods Perform TPM and preventative maintenance tasks on equipment and fixtures Ensure compliance with health & safety, ERP, and quality requirementsSkills, Experience & Competencies Essential: Minimum 5 years’ TIG welding experience in a high-technology manufacturing environment Proven experience welding stainless steel to a very high standard Experience of welder coding to EN287-1, ASME IX and/or PED Experience reading engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions Strong accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail Ability to work to tight deadlines in a clean, physically active shop-floor environment Good IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookPersonal Attributes: Hard-working and self-motivated Hands-on, thorough, and reliable Flexible, adaptable, and enthusiastic Strong team player with the ability to work unsupervised Positive attitude and punctualDesirable Recognised engineering qualification (e.g. City & Guilds, BTEC) Nuclear coding experience (e.g. RCCM) Experience welding exotic materials (316, Duplex, Super Duplex) Experience with automated lathes and/or turntablesBenefits Package 24 days annual leave, increasing with length of service Paid birthday leave Option to sell unused annual leave Up to 5% employer pension contribution Life assurance (4x basic salary) Health cash plan (including discounted gym memberships) Private medical insurance Professional subscription support 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme Enhanced sick payThis role offers long-term stability, advanced training (including robotic welding systems), and the opportunity to work on high-specification engineered products within a supportive and professional manufacturing environment.
