Job Overview This Urban Designer – Architecture, Landscape & Urban Design Job in Bristol is based in the Bristol studio with hybrid working, minimum three days in the office including a core Tuesday. The role supports masterplanning and placemaking projects across town centre regeneration, urban extensions and large-scale strategic developments. Projects span public and private sector clients. This position suits an Urban Designer or Architectural Assistant with strong conceptual and graphic skills. Experience within a UK consultancy environment is preferred. You will report to an Associate or Director within the Bristol urban design team. Role & Responsibilities * Support urban design and strategic masterplanning projects across multiple scales * Assist with concept development, placemaking strategies and design coding * Produce high-quality graphics, visualisations and CAD drawings * Prepare design reports, parameter plans and supporting documents * Work closely with Associates, Directors and multidisciplinary teams * Apply UK urban design principles and relevant UK Building Regulations guidance * Attend design reviews, client meetings and internal studio discussions * Engage in a structured Personal Development Plan with an assigned mentor Skills & Experience Required: * 1+ years’ experience in an urban design or architecture practice * Degree in Urban Design or Architecture * Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual design and placemaking ability * Experience working on UK masterplanning, town centre or urban extension projects * Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD and Rhino * Working knowledge of 3D modelling; Revit desirable * Understanding of UK planning policy, urban design frameworks and placemaking guidance * Clear written and verbal communication skills * Collaborative approach within an office-based design team Salary & Benefits * £29,000 – £35,000 depending on experience * Hybrid working, minimum three days in the Bristol office * Employee-owned business with profit share * Pension contributions * Enhanced family leave * Generous sick pay * Health and wellbeing support * Annual leave with sabbatical options * Volunteer day * Travel and lifestyle schemes * Structured mentorship and progression framework Apply If you meet the criteria above, send us your CV and portfolio.
