Commercial Plumber

Job Title: Commercial Plumber – Water Management & Energy Services Location: Reading - M4 Corridor Salary: Up to £40,000 basic + package About the Role We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Commercial Plumber to join our growing team, delivering specialist water management and energy services across commercial client sites. This is a technically focused role combining hands-on plumbing expertise with water hygiene compliance, remedial works, and advisory responsibilities. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with current water quality and environmental legislation, while supporting both operational teams and clients with expert technical guidance. Key Responsibilities * Manage and implement water management and energy service programmes * Provide technical advice to engineers and site operatives regarding legionella control and water hygiene legislation * Undertake a range of plumbing and remedial works, including: * Dead leg removal * Tank replacements * TMV servicing and replacement * Pipe lagging * Installation of chlorine dioxide units * Telemetry unit installation * Expansion vessel flushing * Carry out cleaning and chlorination of domestic water systems and cooling towers * Prepare quotations and tenders for small remedial works * Ensure all works are completed in line with current health, safety and environmental legislation * Maintain accurate documentation and compliance records Knowledge & Experience Required * NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing (essential) * Excellent knowledge of current legislation relating to the control of legionella bacteria and water quality * Thorough understanding of environmental legislation * Strong working knowledge of Health and Safety Executive's ACOP L8 * Experience working within commercial environments * Previous experience in chemical and biological water sampling (desirable) * Full UK driving licence (essential) Skills & Attributes * Strong technical and problem-solving ability * Confident providing compliance-based technical guidance * Ability to manage workload independently * Professional and client-focused approach * Good written and verbal communication skills Salary & Benefits * Basic salary up to £40,000 (depending on experience) * Competitive benefits package * Opportunity to work within a specialist, compliance-driven environment * Ongoing professional development This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Commercial Plumber looking to progress within water hygiene, compliance, and energy services in a growing and reputable organisation.
