Contract: Permanent, Full-Time Travel: Approx. 30% across Europe & Middle East About the Role We are recruiting an Applications Engineer (Proposals) / Technical Sales Engineer to join a growing Power Group within a global engineering and manufacturing organisation. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys combining technical problem-solving with customer interaction, producing proposals, and supporting complex engineered solutions. You will work independently to develop cost-effective, technically sound proposals for combustion and environmental systems, supporting customers from enquiry stage through to order placement and project handover. Key Responsibilities * Develop cost estimates in line with company guidelines. * Set product pricing using approved mark-up and commission structures. * Prepare, edit, and sign formal quotations. * Respond to customer enquiries and determine equipment selection, sizing, and costing. * Maintain proactive communication with customers throughout the quotation process. * Visit customer sites to discuss proposals, negotiate technical solutions, and assist with troubleshooting. * Identify and coordinate required drawings and documentation for quotations. * Provide clear technical handover information to the projects team. * Support project teams during the full project lifecycle. Required Skills & Experience Essential * Bachelor’s degree (Engineering preferred). * Background in a manufacturing or engineered products environment. * Experience producing technical proposals, quotations, or tenders. * Strong understanding of mechanical / thermal systems (thermodynamics, heat transfer advantageous). * Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. * Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving ability. * Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities. * Full UK driving licence. Desirable * Familiarity with AutoCAD. * Experience in oil & gas, power generation, petrochemical, or process industries. * Previous experience in a technical sales or applications engineering role.
