Sports-Based Teaching Assistant (Primary) 📍 North / East London 🕒 Full-time – Start ASAP 💷 Competitive daily rate We are currently recruiting a Sports-Based Teaching Assistant to work in a primary school setting, supporting pupils with additional needs through structured physical activity, engagement, and positive behaviour support. This role is ideal for someone with a sports, coaching, or mentoring background who has experience working with children and can use physical activity as a tool to support focus, emotional regulation, and confidence. The Role: * Supporting pupils within the classroom and during PE / structured physical activities * Using sport and movement to promote engagement, routine, and positive behaviour * Working 1:1 or in small groups with pupils who may have additional or behavioural needs * Supporting the class teacher with behaviour management and lesson delivery * Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment Requirements: * Relevant experience working with children (school, coaching, youth work, mentoring, or sports settings) * Confident managing behaviour and engaging pupils through sport and activity * A positive, patient, and reliable approach * Enhanced DBS on the Child Workforce, registered on the Update Service (essential) * Ability to start as soon as possible Desirable (but not essential): * Experience supporting pupils with SEN / SEMH * Sports coaching qualifications or strong sporting background * Experience working in primary schools If you’re passionate about sport and making a positive impact on children’s lives, we’d love to hear from you. 📩 Apply now with your CV or get in touch for more information
