Maintenance Manager Salary: £49,000 – £52,000 DOE Location: On-site – Manufacturing Facility Hours: Full-Time | Day Shift Direct Reports: Maintenance Technicians & Approved Contractors Visa Sponsorship: Not available Our client is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Lead to take ownership of maintenance delivery across production equipment and site facilities. This is a working leadership role — you will spend the majority of your time on the shop floor diagnosing faults, repairing machinery and keeping production running, whilst coordinating the maintenance team and contractors. Key Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance * Perform hands-on maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of production machinery * Respond to breakdowns quickly to minimise downtime * Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults * Execute preventive maintenance and ensure PM schedules are completed * Support installation and commissioning of new equipment * Act as technical escalation point for complex or recurring failures Facilities & Utilities Maintain site infrastructure including: Electrical distribution & lighting HVAC and temperature control systems Compressed air, water and utilities Building fabric, doors, floors and general infrastructure Additional duties: Conduct routine inspections and resolve defects proactively Coordinate and supervise contractors safely and effectively Health, Safety & Compliance Comply with H&S legislation and site procedures Enforce safe systems of work (LOTO, permits, risk assessments) Support audits and statutory inspections Promote a proactive safety culture Planning & Continuous Improvement Plan maintenance around production schedules Maintain accurate maintenance records Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions Improve equipment reliability and maintenance practices Assist spare parts management and cost control Skills & Experience * Proven background as a Maintenance Engineer or Senior Technician * Experience within a manufacturing/production environment * Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding ability * Experience coordinating or leading maintenance activities * Able to prioritise effectively in a reactive production environment Qualifications (Desirable) * Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering qualification * Electrical competency certification * IOSH / NEBOSH or similar safety training Role Profile * 60–70% hands-on engineering / 30–40% leadership & planning * Shop-floor based manufacturing environment * Combination of reactive, preventive and improvement-driven maintenance Apply today to speak to one of our consultants.
