We are seeking an HR Assistant to support the Human Resources department with essential administrative and operational tasks. This role is based in Nottingham and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the not-for-profit sector. Client Details The hiring organisation is a well-established entity within the not-for-profit sector. Description Recruitment administration: Post approved adverts, coordinate interview scheduling, manage candidate communications, and maintain an up‑to‑date interview tracker. Offer & onboarding documentation: Prepare offer letters, contracts/variations and induction packs within one working day of approval; ensure all new‑starter paperwork is complete and filed. HR records & data hygiene: Bring personnel files and HRIS fields fully up to date; clear any backlog of filing and align document naming/storage to our standards. Inductions & probation checkpoints: Issue induction schedules and book all probation review meetings already due or falling within the period; maintain a live tracker. Routine HR correspondence: Draft routine HR letters and emails (e.g. confirmations, references, standard notifications) for sign‑off and dispatch. Reporting & trackers: Produce a weekly HR activity summary (vacancy pipeline, onboarding status, key dates) and keep core trackers current. Diary & meeting support: Arrange HR meetings as required and take clear action‑oriented notes for circulation within 24 hours (where applicable). Policy/process support: Assist with minor policy/template updates and small process improvements directed by the Head of HR. Compliance readiness: Ensure right‑to‑work and reference checks are verified and recorded for the interim; support basic DBS where required. Handover pack: Prepare a concise handover note and updated trackers for a smooth transition to the permanent hire. Profile A successful HR Assistant should have: Previous experience in a similar HR role. A strong understanding of HR practices and procedures. Excellent organisational and time-management skills. Proficiency in using HR systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. The ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn. An interest in working within the not-for-profit sector.Job Offer Competitive salary ranging from £28000 to £32000 per annum. Hybrid working.
