Design Manager

Design Manager Are you an experienced Design Manager looking to take ownership of a large-scale residential scheme in London? This is a progressive opportunity to lead the design process on a 300+ unit development over five blocks including a RC frame construction up to 16 storeys. This is a site-based role, five days a week, giving you full visibility and control over delivery from RIBA Stage 4 onwards. About the role of Design Manager As Design Manager, you will take responsibility for managing and driving the design from technical stage through to completion. The scheme consists of five residential blocks with reinforced concrete frames reaching up to 16 storeys, requiring strong coordination, technical oversight, and stakeholder management. You will be based on site in London, working closely with the construction, commercial, and consultant teams to ensure design information is accurate, buildable, and delivered in line with programme. This is a key role on a substantial residential development with significant scale and complexity. Responsibilities for Design Manager • Manage the design process from RIBA Stage 4 through to project completion • Coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP consultants • Ensure design information is aligned with programme and procurement schedules • Review and manage technical submissions and consultant deliverables • Lead design meetings and resolve technical and buildability challenges • Work closely with site and commercial teams to mitigate risk and control change Requirements for Design Manager • Proven experience as a Design Manager on large residential schemes • Strong background delivering RC frame projects, ideally mid- to high-rise • Experience managing projects from RIBA Stage 4 onwards • Ability to coordinate multiple consultants and manage design risk • Strong communication and leadership skills What’s on offer for Design Manager • Opportunity to lead a 300+ unit, multi-block residential development • High level of autonomy and responsibility • Long-term pipeline of London-based residential work • Competitive salary and benefits package If you want to hear more about this Design Manager role, apply now with your CV or contact Laiba Naveed in our London office on (phone number removed)
