Production Operative

We are currently recruiting for a Machine Operator to join a busy manufacturing environment in Halstead. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating machinery safely and efficiently while maintaining quality standards and production targets. Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:30 Friday 08:00 – 15:30 Role Accountabilities: * Operate machinery and equipment following safe practices for machining, sawing, punching, drilling and assembly operations * Verify machine and tooling settings to ensure accurate tolerances and correct machine function * Maintain productivity on routine and repetitive manufacturing jobs at prescribed rates * Carry out in-process checks to ensure all required tolerances and quality standards are met * Maintain cleanliness of machines and work area during and after operation * Complete all required safety procedures prior to and during operations * Communicate production related matters to supervisors Responsibilities: * Operate machines, controls, deburr and inspect parts to ensure conformance to drawing specifications * Work from drawings, sketches and manuals to determine dimensions, tolerances and set-up requirements * Organise work area before and after processing, stacking finished parts correctly to avoid double handling * Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and make adjustments where capable * Report machine faults to supervisors * Liaise with management, production control and quality teams to resolve machining or quality issues The Experience You Will Bring: * Previous machine operating or manufacturing experience preferred * Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications * Good attention to detail and quality standards * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Strong communication skills * Understanding of health & safety in a workshop environment Market 36 Recruitment Ltd cover a range of sectors including Commercial, Industrial, Engineering, HR & Finance & ITAD.
