What you’ll be doing * React quickly and safely to machinery breakdowns to minimise downtime * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to keep the plant running smoothly * Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults (typically 60/40 split) * Work across a wide range of production kit – extruders, shredders, washers, conveyors, wastewater systems and more * Take full ownership of your jobs from start to finish, including clear reporting and handovers * Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives across the site * Maintain high standards of housekeeping and contribute to a strong, safety-first culture What we’re looking for * A recognised engineering qualification (electrical or mechanical bias) * Experience in fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing or industrial environments * Confident in electrical and mechanical fault-finding * Good understanding of PPM and reliability practices * Ability to read electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and basic PLC diagrams * A proactive, solutions-driven approach and a strong team ethic * Full UK driving licence Bonus skills (great to have, not essential) * Time-served apprenticeship * 18th Edition * Experience with inverters, FLT licence, or plastics/extrusion machinery * Exposure to highly automated / 24/7 manufacturing environments Why join? £50k+ salary 4on/4off shift pattern – 12hr days & nights Contributory company pension scheme 23 days’ holiday (rising to 25) + 8 bank holidays Cash healthcare plan Employee recognition awards (monthly & annual) Real career growth opportunities within a sustainable, purpose-led business Work with a friendly, supportive engineering team committed to innovation and continuous improvement Be part of something bigger This is more than just a maintenance role.
