Secondary Teaching Assistant - Specialist Behaviour Setting Rugby | Full-Time | Term Time Only | Salary dependent on experience Are you resilient, patient, and passionate about supporting young people who need it most? We are seeking a committed Secondary Teaching Assistant to join our specialist provision in Rugby, working with students who present with challenging behaviour and additional social, emotional, and mental health needs. The Role As a Teaching Assistant in our specialist setting, you will: Support students aged 11-16 with behavioural, emotional, and additional learning needs Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to create a structured and supportive learning environment Help implement behaviour support strategies and individual support plans Provide one-to-one and small group interventions Promote positive choices, emotional regulation, and resilience Build strong, professional relationships based on trust, consistency, and high expectations The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: Has experience working with secondary-aged students, ideally within alternative provision, SEMH, or behaviour support settings Remains calm and confident when managing challenging behaviour Demonstrates strong communication and de-escalation skills Is empathetic, patient, and committed to inclusion Has a firm but fair approach and a genuine belief in every young person's potential Team Teach or other behaviour management training is desirable, but not essential, as training can be provided.
