An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to join a highly regarded main contractor in the North West. The company delivers a diverse range of projects including education, healthcare, commercial, and mid-rise residential developments up to £50m. With a strong pipeline of city centre residential projects due on site in 2026, this role will suit a high-calibre Project Manager experienced in delivering mid-rise apartment schemes of circa £20m. The Role As Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for managing and coordinating all construction activities on site, ensuring project objectives are achieved in line with safety, quality, programme, and cost requirements. You will lead by example, embedding a strong safety culture and driving collaboration, performance, and accountability across the project team and supply chain. Key Responsibilities Lead the project team, ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are always maintained Promote a safety-first culture across site teams and subcontractors Manage, supervise, and develop site staff, ensuring competency and performance Assemble, structure, and monitor a high-performing project team Plan, manage, and coordinate all site activities on live city centre residential projects Chair daily coordination meetings with subcontractors, maintaining accurate site diaries and records Monitor, and update short-term programmes, reviewing progress daily and weekly Provide accurate progress and performance reports for internal and external stakeholders Manage all interfaces with the public and external authorities in a constrained city centre environmentWhat We're Looking For Proven experience delivering city centre residential projects is essential A relevant construction qualification (HNC, BSc, BEng, or equivalent) Membership or working towards membership of a recognised professional body (e.g. MCIOB) Sound knowledge of construction contracts, procedures, and residential build processes Comprehensive understanding of health and safety requirements, supported by relevant training Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications Competent IT skills Technically qualified in a relevant discipline Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills Building Careers UK specialises in Construction and Property recruitment and serves as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
