Parking Appeals & Representations Officer Local Authority | South East London A large local authority in South East London is seeking an experienced Parking Appeals & Representations Officer to join its back-office parking services team on a contract basis. This role is suited to candidates with proven local authority or housing association experience only, who are confident managing statutory parking appeals, representations and adjudication casework to strict legislative deadlines. Assignment Details Contract Length: 9 months (ongoing assignment) Pay Rate: £25 per hour (Umbrella) Hours: 36 hours per week Working Pattern: Office-based, 5 days per week (no hybrid working) Closing Date: 25/02/2026 at 17:00The Role Reporting to a Team Leader within the Back Office Parking Team, the postholder will be responsible for investigating and responding to all correspondence relating to Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) across the statutory process. Key focus will be on ETA (Environment and Traffic Adjudicators) appeals, ensuring evidence packs are prepared, submitted and monitored in line with legislative timescales and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Prepare, process and submit ETA appeal cases and evidence packs Respond to and compile ETA case packs for: Moving Traffic Contraventions (MTC) Bus Lane PCNs CEO-issued PCNs Respond to informal challenges, formal representations and Notices of Rejection Maintain awareness of adjudication decisions and feedback implications to senior management Provide expert guidance and advice on parking appeals and representations Ensure all responses meet statutory deadlines and productivity targets Liaise professionally with adjudicators and attend personal hearings where required Support service improvement initiatives and provide cover within the team when neededSkills, Knowledge & Experience Essential: Proven experience as a Parking Appeals / Representations Officer Local authority, council or housing association experience only Strong working knowledge of parking enforcement legislation Experience preparing London Tribunals / ETA evidence packs Ability to assess evidence and make balanced, defensible decisions Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesAdditional Information This role does not require a DBS The postholder must comply with GDPR, health & safety and equal opportunities policies📩 Apply today for a confidential discussion.
