Mobile Gardener

The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for a Mobile Gardener covering the North region, with Harrogate used as the base site. This is a full time permanent position, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a salary of £26,722 per annum. This is a mobile role responsible for maintaining cemeteries and memorial sites across the region. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on horticultural work and takes pride in maintaining outdoor spaces to a consistently high standard. You will work independently across multiple locations while ensuring all sites are presented with care, respect, and attention to detail. Strong organisation and reliability are essential due to the mobile nature of the role. Key Responsibilities Carry out horticultural maintenance including mowing, edging, hedge cutting, weeding, and pruning Apply pesticides and treatments in accordance with safe working practices Undertake general caretaking duties across cemetery and memorial sites Plan and organise daily workload across multiple locations Order plants, chemicals, fertilisers, PPE, and equipment as required Operate, maintain, and carry out routine checks on machinery and vehicles Report structural defects or environmental changes to management Adhere strictly to Health and Safety procedures and safe working practices Complete administrative tasks using a smart tablet and IT systems Maintain high standards of presentation and site care at all times Requirements NVQ Level 2 in Horticulture (or equivalent) OR proven practical horticultural experience Strong plant identification knowledge and understanding of sustainable garden practices Understanding of Health and Safety procedures Experience operating a wide range of garden machinery Full UK manual driving licence essential IT literate and confident using tablets or mobile devices Skills and Qualities Practical and hands-on horticultural ability Strong organisational and time management skills Ability to work independently in a mobile role Reliable, responsible, and professional approach Respectful attitude when working in sensitive environments Good communication skills What's On Offer Salary of £26,722 per annum Full time permanent position Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week Mobile role covering the North region Structured and independent working environment Long term opportunity within a respected organisation Working Hours Summer Hours Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 12.30 / 1.30pm to 5.00pm Friday 8.00am to 12.30pm / 1.30pm to 4.00pm Winter Hours Monday to Friday 8.00am to 12.30 / 1.00pm to 4.00pm How to Apply This role is being recruited by Halmer Group on behalf of our client.
