Shift Engineer City of London £48,000 – £52,000 Are you an experienced Shift Engineer seeking your next opportunity with a well-established and highly respected Building Services Provider? We are currently recruiting for a skilled electrically biased engineer to join a proactive and professional maintenance team on a prestigious commercial site in London. This role offers an excellent work-life balance with a 4 on / 4 off day shift pattern (7:00am – 7:00pm), giving you consistent structure and valuable time off while maintaining full-time stability. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a modern commercial property. Your technical expertise will play a vital role in ensuring the building remains safe, compliant, and fully operational at all times. Key Responsibilities Carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance Working on single & three-phase power systems Motors and generators (including on/off load testing) UPS systems LV/HV switching and shutdown procedures Emergency lighting and fire alarm testing AHUs, FCUs, VAVs Sprinkler systems Pumps, belts, bearings, mechanical seals BMS operation Ensuring Health & Safety compliance Maintaining logbooks and site documentation Completing risk assessments Issuing and managing permits to work Requirements City & Guilds / NVQ (or equivalent) in Electrical Installations Minimum 3 years’ experience in commercial building maintenance Career-driven and motivated individual Professional, polite, and personable approach HVAP qualification (desirable but not essential) Salary & Benefits £48,000 – £52,000 per annum 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (days only) 20 days holiday Company pension scheme Significant overtime opportunities available Clear internal progression routes Ongoing training and development Opportunity to join a privately owned, growing Building Services provider This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking company that values its engineers and invests in their development
