Senior GC-MS Scientist

Senior Analytical Chemist – GC-MS An industry-leading international laboratory in Bedford is seeking an experienced Senior Analytical Chemist to join their expanding environmental testing team. In this role, you will work with a high degree of autonomy, performing complex GC-MS analyses of small-molecule compounds in challenging environmental matrices. You will play a key role in method development and validation, troubleshooting instrumentation, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality analytical data. As a senior member of the team, you will also provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior analysts, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing laboratory environment. Key Requirements: * Strong hands-on experience with GC-MS instrumentation * Proven method development and validation experience * Experience analysing trace-level contaminants is desirable * Background in environmental analysis is desirable * Demonstrated experience mentoring or supervising junior staff * Excellent communication and organisational skills This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong analytical chemist looking to step into (or further develop within) a senior-level role in a respected international laboratory.
