Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant (Day-to-Day, Part-Time & Full-Time - Including SEN Roles) Location: Long Eaton, Derbyshire We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and adaptable Primary Teaching Assistants to support a range of welcoming and supportive primary schools in Long Eaton and surrounding areas. We have flexible opportunities available including day-to-day supply, part-time, full-time, and long-term roles, with some positions specifically supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Whether you are an experienced Teaching Assistant, have a background in SEN, or are looking to build further classroom experience, we have roles to match your skills and availability. The Role As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will support teaching and learning across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Roles may include general classroom support or focused 1:1 SEN provision depending on the school's needs. General Classroom TA Responsibilities: Supporting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities Working with small groups to reinforce learning Assisting with phonics, reading, writing and maths interventions Preparing classroom resources and maintaining a positive learning environment Encouraging pupil engagement and promoting positive behaviour Supporting pupils during transitions and break times where required SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities (where applicable): Some roles will involve supporting pupils with additional needs, including: Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) ADHD Speech and Language needs Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs Moderate learning difficulties In SEN-focused roles, you may: Provide 1:1 tailored support in line with EHCP targets Implement behaviour and learning strategies Support emotional regulation and sensory needs Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress Encourage independence, confidence and social development Experience supporting children with SEN is highly desirable for these roles, though training and ongoing support will be available.
