Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant (Day-to-Day, Part-Time & Full-Time - Including SEN Roles) Location: Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire We are currently recruiting committed and adaptable Primary Teaching Assistants to work across a range of welcoming and supportive primary schools in Burton upon Trent and surrounding areas. We have flexible opportunities available including day-to-day supply, part-time, full-time, and long-term positions, with some roles specifically supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Whether you are an experienced Teaching Assistant, an SEN specialist, or looking to build your classroom experience, we have opportunities to suit you. The Role As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Assignments may vary from general classroom support to targeted 1:1 SEN provision. General Classroom TA Responsibilities: Supporting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities Working with small groups to reinforce learning Assisting with phonics, reading, writing and numeracy interventions Preparing classroom resources and maintaining an organised learning environment Promoting positive behaviour and pupil engagement Supervising pupils during break times where required SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities (where applicable): Some roles will involve supporting pupils with additional needs including: Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) ADHD Speech and Language needs Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs Moderate learning difficulties In SEN-focused roles, you may: Provide 1:1 tailored support following EHCP targets Implement behaviour support strategies and personalised learning plans Support sensory regulation and emotional wellbeing Liaise with SENCOs and class teachers to monitor progress Encourage independence and social development Experience supporting children with SEN is highly desirable for these roles, though training and guidance will be provided.
