Residential Home Manager


Position: Residential Manager Location: DE4 Salary: £50k OTE £62k Role: Permanent position Mayfield Recruitment are currently looking for a Residential Manager in the DE4 area on a permanent basis. In this position, the Residential Manager must hold their lvl 5 in Health & Social Care as well as proven experience in managing a care home or similar setting. This position does not offer sponsorship or switches The role for the Residential Manager: You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the home, including overseeing staff, compliance with regulatory standards, budget management, and promoting a safe, caring, and supportive environment for residents and staff alike. The Residential Manager will be responsible for: • Provide strong leadership to the care team, promoting a culture of compassion, dignity, and excellence. • Ensure the care home operates in full compliance with CQC standards and other relevant legislation. • Manage and monitor care delivery to ensure it meets residents’ individual needs and preferences. • Oversee recruitment, training, supervision, and development of staff to maintain a skilled and motivated team. • Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies. • Lead on safeguarding, health and safety, infection control, and risk management within the home. • Monitor occupancy levels and promote the home to prospective residents and families. What the Residential Manager will need to hold: • NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care Management or equivalent (required) • Proven experience in managing a care home or similar care setting. • Registered Manager status with the CQC (or willingness to register). • In-depth knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding protocols, and best practice in elderly or specialist care • Strong leadership and people management skills • Empathetic, approachable, and committed to delivering outstanding care.
