This is a unique and meaningful role combining clinical expertise with therapeutic gaming engagement. Role Overview – Remote Gaming Mentor The successful candidate will deliver therapeutic, game?based mentoring sessions to young people with a range of neurodivergent and mental health needs. All work is completed remotely via Zoom and online gameplay. You will: Deliver 30? or 60?minute therapeutic gaming?focused sessions Support young people’s emotional wellbeing and mental health through game?based interactions Build rapport and engagement using young people’s preferred games and interests Complete pre? and post?session tasks (emails, notes, liaison with parents/carers) Attend regular MDT-style meetings to discuss progress and maintain consistent approaches Communicate professionally with families, manage scheduling, and maintain continuity Produce occasional reports for families or Local Authorities (Optional) Contribute to blogs or written content relating to gaming, mental health, neurodivergence, or educationCandidate Profile We are seeking a clinician who is: Calm, patient, gentle-natured, and neurodiversity?affirming Able to build trust and connection through shared gaming interests Skilled at working at the young person’s pace and adapting to individual needs Confident supporting young people with complex emotional or behavioural presentations Collaborative and able to work within a small, specialist MDTEssential Clinical Qualifications & Experience Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) – minimum 10 years’ experience in mental health Strong experience supporting young people with: ADHD Autism Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) Anxiety Clinical Depression Experience conducting risk assessments, safeguarding, and clinical documentation Comfortable delivering support remotelyRequired Gaming Equipment Candidates should ideally have access to at least two of the following devices: PC PlayStation 5 Xbox Nintendo Switch Meta Quest 3 (desirable but not essential)This ensures flexibility for young people’s preferred gaming platforms. Required Gaming Competencies Competent in: Minecraft, Fortnite, Ark: Survival Ascended, Astroneer, Bloons TD6, No Man’s Sky, Plants vs Zombies, Sea of Thieves, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Forza Horizon 5, Destiny 2, Roblox, Overwatch, Marvel Rivals, Trailmakers, Grounded 1 & 2, Portal 2, Skate, Palworld, Raft, Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra. Highly Proficient in: World of Warcraft, Dota 2, Final Fantasy XIV, Pokémon, Fellowship. Additional personal interests such as films, reading, gym, animals, Formula 1, fantasy/sci?fi (Marvel, Star Wars, LOTR, Harry Potter) are beneficial but not essential.
