Teaching Assistant


Are you a caring, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding full-time role in Northumberland? Do you enjoy supporting children’s learning and making a real difference in the classroom every day? Humly is working closely with a school in northumberland who have an internal SEND additional resources unit and are looking to appoint an additional experienced TA to the team. The Role There will be 8 children in the class with 3 members of staff. Children are of Reception and Year 1 age, but working developmentally to around 2 years old. It is vital the right educator has experience with SEND and a kind and caring nature. Key Responsibilities * Classroom Support: Support the class teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons and classroom activities. * Pupil Support: Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and provide additional support where needed. * Inclusion: Support pupils with additional needs, including SEN, ensuring they can access learning and participate fully. * Behaviour & Wellbeing: Promote positive behaviour and support pupils’ social and emotional development. * Learning Environment: Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment. * Collaboration: Work effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff to support pupil progress. * Safeguarding: Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote the wellbeing of all pupils at all times. Requirements * Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting (desirable). * A positive, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children’s learning. * Strong communication and teamwork skills. * A genuine passion for working with children. * Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
