Veterinary care assistant

Need at least one years experience in a VCA We are currently recruiting for A Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) positions at a friendly, well-equipped practice. 🕒 Working Hours * Approximately 40 hours per week * Preferably 4 days per week * 9:00am – 7:00pm shifts * 30-minute unpaid lunch break 🩺 Veterinary Nurse Responsibilities (Senior Nurse & RVN Roles) * Care of admitted patients and monitoring during and post-surgery * Assisting veterinary surgeons during procedures * Taking blood samples and placing intravenous catheters * Supporting minor procedures (e.g. dental descaling or areas of special interest) * Running and managing nursing clinics * Laboratory duties * Laundry duties including uniforms, bedding, and autoclaving instruments * Reception duties (up to 5 hours per week) * Accurate record keeping, including inpatient forms, anaesthetic records, and insurance documentation 🐶 Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) Responsibilities The VCA role is focused primarily on animal care and practice support, including: * Assisting nurses with patient restraint and recovery * Cleaning, maintaining hygiene standards, and general tidiness * Laundry duties * Laboratory support (sorting samples, running bloods) * Supporting the nursing team as required * Some reception duties 🌟 The Ideal Candidates * Passionate, proactive, and team-oriented * Comfortable working in a busy clinical environment * Strong attention to detail and high standards of patient care
