Apply your CAD and design expertise to national security challenges to £70,000 DoE + Benefits This defence and security technology consultancy is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their rapidly growing team. Working on projects of genuine national importance, you will be developing breakthrough technology vital for strengthening the UK's defence and homeland security capabilities. Your expertise will help defend and protect against the latest technological and cyber threats. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will tackle diverse, real-world challenges from the ground up, working through the entire product lifecycle. Collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team of scientists, engineers and designers, you will capture requirements, design, develop, document, test and deliver solutions through to production. Using 3D CAD, you will create and evolve a wide range of designs including products, assembly jigs, test equipment and instrumentation. You will also have opportunities to present proposed solutions through sketches, animations and renderings as part of the build, testing and troubleshooting process. The company's wide variety of projects, ranging from proof-of-concept work through to working prototypes, provide both intellectual and practical challenges. This is a fantastically challenging, varied and agile role. Requirements: * Strong academic background with a relevant degree and top A Levels or equivalent. * Demonstrable experience with CAD design, modelling and simulation including design for manufacture and thermal simulations. * Knowledge in design for integration with electronics/PCBs, ruggedised design for challenging environments, miniaturised design, and additive manufacture would be highly beneficial. * British Citizen eligible for UK security clearance.
