Buyer & Office Assistant Location: Bramley Salary: £38,000 Hours: 37 per week Permanent A well-established precision manufacturing business based in Bramley is seeking a Buyer & Office Assistant to join its team. With over 40 years of trading history and a strong reputation across machinery, subsea and automotive sectors, the company operates from a single, fully owned site and employs a close-knit team of 15. This is a busy, hands-on role within a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key part in supporting procurement, logistics and customer coordination activities, ensuring materials and components flow smoothly from supplier through to production and delivery. Key Responsibilities: * Reading and interpreting engineering drawings * Ordering plastics and mechanical components from suppliers * Obtaining quotations and confirming material availability * Expediting orders and monitoring supplier delivery schedules * Managing stock levels to maintain consistent material flow * Coordinating closely with the shop floor regarding material requirements * Acting as a link between production and the office * Handling customer enquiries relating to order status and delivery times * Processing order entry and supporting invoice matching * Supporting high-volume, time-sensitive customer orders * Resolving delays or supply chain issues efficiently Essential Requirements: * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings * Procurement experience, ideally within plastics or manufacturing * Strong communication skills for supplier and customer interaction * Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain order flow * Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Desirable Experience: * Background in plastic manufacturing or materials purchasing * Experience within an industrial supply chain or logistics environment Benefits: * 20 days holiday plus bank holidays (including paid Christmas shutdown) * Annual pay review * Christmas bonus based on personal performance * Stable, long-standing business with owned premises and infrastructure * Supportive team environment This is an excellent opportunity to join a secure and established manufacturing business where you will have genuine responsibility and visibility across operations
