Project Quantity Surveyor Location: Hereford Salary: £50,000 – £57,500 + Package Sector: Construction (Defects, Fit-Out & Modular Projects) Job Type: Permanent I am currently recruiting on behalf of a Tier 1 contractor with a strong national presence and an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects across the UK. Due to continued growth and a strong secured order book, they are looking to appoint a Project Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. The Role As Project Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for a portfolio of projects across defects, fit-out, and modular schemes. Projects will vary in scale and complexity, providing excellent exposure and the opportunity to broaden your experience within a supportive commercial team. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered profitably, efficiently, and in line with contractual requirements. Key Responsibilities * Managing the commercial performance of multiple projects or work packages * Subcontract procurement, negotiation, and appointment * Managing subcontractor accounts, variations, and final accounts * Preparing and submitting valuations and applications for payment * Cost reporting, forecasting, and cash flow management * Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities * Ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions * Working closely with operational teams to drive project performance Requirements * Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management * Experience working for a main contractor (ideally Tier 1 or Tier 2) * Background in fit-out, modular construction, refurbishment, or defects projects preferred * Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously * Good knowledge of standard forms of contract (NEC/JCT) * Ambitious, proactive, and keen to progress What’s on Offer * Salary £50,000 – £57,500 * Competitive benefits package * Clear career progression within a leading Tier 1 contractor * Ongoing training and professional development * Exposure to a varied and secure project portfolio * Stable, long-term pipeline of work This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Project QS looking to step into a role with genuine progression prospects within a market-leading contractor.
