If you want to shape operations, build future leaders, and step into a Senior Operations Director role sooner rather than later, keep reading.   This Senior Operations Manager position is designed for someone who wants ownership, progression, and influence across a growing, multi-site logistics and fulfilment operation.   The Opportunity   As Senior Operations Manager, you will take full operational responsibility across two key sites, Heathrow and Northampton, leading logistics, fulfilment, and food storage operations through a period of change and development. This role goes beyond day-to-day delivery. You will be tasked with building structure, embedding robust processes, strengthening compliance, and developing a management team that can operate independently.   A key focus of the Senior Operations Manager role is preparing the business for food storage accreditation, improving operational governance, and creating an environment where performance, quality, and accountability are owned at the right levels. This is a genuine progression role, with the expectation that the successful Senior Operations Manager will develop into Senior Operations Director as the business continues to scale.   Job Responsibilities Take full ownership of operational delivery across Heathrow and Northampton sites Document, implement, and continuously improve operational processes and client SOPs Lead the operational rollout and adoption of a new in-house Warehouse Management System Drive readiness for food storage accreditation by embedding compliant operational practices Develop, track, and report KPIs covering productivity, service, quality, and cost Own operational performance reviews and ensure corrective actions are delivered Lead client onboarding from an operational perspective, ensuring smooth integration Manage complex operational requirements and non-standard distribution activity Ensure all service, quality, and budget objectives are consistently met Build a strong, capable middle management layer through coaching and mentoring Reduce operational dependency by empowering managers to take full ownership Act as the senior operational escalation point for site and client issues Lead health and safety compliance across all operational areas Own and enforce operational security standards Work closely with senior leadership to support long-term operational strategy  Skills and Experience Proven experience as a Senior Operations Manager or in a similar senior operational role Strong background in logistics, warehousing, fulfilment, or food storage environments Exposure to BRC or food safety accreditation standards highly desirable Demonstrable experience leading multi-site operations Strong people leadership skills with a track record of developing managers Experience implementing or leading the rollout of WMS platforms Highly numerate with strong analytical and reporting capability Confident managing operational risk, compliance, and performance improvement Able to operate strategically while remaining close to operational detail Comfortable working autonomously and influencing at senior leadership level  Pay and Benefits Salary up to £70,000 depending on experience Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00 25 days holiday Company pension Life assurance Profit sharing scheme Multi-site responsibility across Heathrow and Northampton Clear progression pathway to Senior Operations Director Opportunity to shape and lead a growing operation  Why Apply   This Senior Operations Manager role is not about maintaining the status quo.
