Electrical Fitter

Job Title: Electrical Fitter Location: Portsmouth (HM Naval Base) Service Area: Service Delivery Hours of Work: 37 Per week What You’ll be doing: As an Electrical Fitter, you will play a vital role in delivering temporary electrical services across the Naval Base. You’ll primarily operate as a shore connections electrician, ensuring vessels and engineering teams receive safe, reliable power infrastructure. You’ll deliver all temporary electrical services across Portsmouth Naval Base, operating safely and flexibly in a fast paced multi disciplined environment while working to tight schedules and maintaining the highest safety standards, communicating effectively with colleagues, ship staff and engineering teams, and supporting all areas of Alongside Services when required. This role includes on-call rotas and overtime to support operational demands You’ll Have: Experience gained through an electrical apprenticeship or equivalent route, supported by an NVQ (or equivalent) in Electrical Installations and Electrical Testing, along with a BS7671 18th Edition qualification. You will also have experience working with 3‑phase (50Hz and 60Hz) systems and a PAT testing qualification.
