What You'll Be Responsible For As a Process Technician, you'll coordinate and carry out operational activities to ensure the plant runs safely, efficiently and in full compliance with environmental standards. Your day-to-day will include: Operating plant systems safely and efficiently on a rotating shift basis Monitoring and controlling waste handling, boilers and furnace systems, steam turbine generators, ash handling, water treatment, conveyors and filtration systems Using and interrogating complex DCS and/or SCADA systems Diagnosing and rectifying process and equipment faults Completing detailed operational logs and accurate shift handovers Performing routine plant testing and managing safe shutdowns when required Supporting operational improvements and workplace investigations Acting as a Competent and Authorised Person for plant isolations Supporting site health, safety and environmental compliance, including inspections and emergency response dutiesThis is a role for someone who takes ownership - and understands the responsibility that comes with operating critical infrastructure. Who You Are You're technically strong. Safety-focused. Calm under pressure. You enjoy problem-solving and you don't cut corners. You'll ideally bring: A solid technical background in plant operations or maintenance Experience using DCS and/or SCADA systems Hands-on experience with large boilers, rotating equipment or similar process plant Strong understanding of operational procedures and safe systems of work Ability to carry out front-line maintenance NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a technical/science discipline (preferred) IOSH Managing Safely (or willingness to complete) Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, CMMS systems etc.) Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently Flexibility to work shifts and adapt to operational demandsMost importantly - you take pride in running plant safely, efficiently and professionally.
