Role: Site Engineer Location: London Salary: Circa 75K Industry: Construction/ Engineering ROLE SUMMARY As Site Engineer, you will support the on-site management team to deliver works safely, on programme, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will take ownership of setting out, surveying, QA checks, and technical coordination across structural and MEP interfaces, working closely with subcontractors and consultants. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Site Engineering & Technical Delivery • Support the Site Manager with daily site operations and engineering activities. • Act as the primary technical point of contact on site for specialist subcontractors, including the concrete frame contractor. • Carry out setting out, levelling, surveying, and dimensional control to ensure works align with approved drawings and tolerances. • Coordinate setting out requirements and resolve clashes or discrepancies between drawings and site conditions. • Manage QA activities, including inspections, checks, and accurate record keeping. • Coordinate and complete temporary works checks and support temporary works coordination activities. • Interpret and manage construction drawings issued by structural, architectural, and MEP design teams. • Ensure materials and workmanship meet specifications, standards, and agreed quality requirements. • Demonstrate competence in reading reinforcement drawings and calling off reinforcement from schedules. Coordination & Site Management Support • Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the wider workforce to drive delivery. • Support day-to-day site control, including monitoring labour and subcontractor performance to ensure productivity and quality. • Assist with planning activities, organising plant and site facilities to meet key milestones and deadlines. • Take a proactive approach to resolving technical issues, recording actions and escalating risks where required. Health, Safety & Reporting • Promote and implement robust health and safety practices, ensuring compliance with current regulations and site standards. • Support project reporting by preparing updates, progress records, and technical reports for the senior site team. • Complete any other duties reasonably required to support successful project delivery. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE • Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. • Valid CSR / CSCS Card (or equivalent). • Minimum 3 years’ post-graduate site engineering experience. • Proven experience setting out structures valued at £3m+ (or comparable complexity). • Demonstrable experience reading reinforcement drawings and calling off reinforcement from schedules. • Strong working knowledge of current Health & Safety regulations and best practice. • Excellent communication, coordination, and planning skills. • Team-oriented, self-motivated, and delivery focused. • Competent in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD. • Flexibility to work across multiple sites within the UK and Ireland as required. • Must have the right to work in the UK (valid work permission where applicable)
