Role: AFTERCARE SUPERVISOR (JOINERY) Location: UK Wide Salary: Circa 75K Industry: Construction/ Engineering Department: Aftercare / Defects Reporting to: Aftercare Manager (or relevant line manager) Location: Site-based across multiple projects (UK) ROLE OVERVIEW The Aftercare Supervisor (Joinery) is responsible for managing and coordinating the resolution of defects during the Defects Liability Period (DLP). You will oversee defect inspections, plan and supervise remedial works in live environments, and coordinate internal operatives and specialist subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standard. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Defects Management & Delivery • Manage and oversee defects works across multiple projects during the Defects Liability Period. • Plan, allocate, and supervise remedial works in occupied/live buildings, ensuring minimal disruption to occupants and operations. • Carry out inspections and identify remedial actions in line with contractual and client requirements. • Ensure all repairs meet required quality standards, specifications, and company procedures. Health, Safety & Compliance • Ensure all works comply with company standards, Health & Safety requirements, and relevant legislation. • Deliver Toolbox Talks (TBTs) and promote safe working practices across all teams and contractors. • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, risk awareness, and incident prevention at all times. Team & Contractor Coordination • Supervise internal operatives and coordinate external contractors (e.g., plumbers, electricians, roofers and other specialist trades). • Monitor productivity, workmanship, and adherence to agreed schedules and service levels. • Provide clear site direction and ensure works are completed right-first-time. Materials, Logistics & Administration • Source materials, arrange deliveries, and ensure purchase orders are raised, completed, and approved in line with internal controls. • Maintain accurate defects tracking records, progress updates, and close-out evidence. • Attend defects review meetings, provide updates on status, risks, and priorities, and support reporting requirements. Professional Standards • Lead by example, demonstrating strong professionalism, punctuality, and a high standard of customer-facing conduct. • Support and promote a collaborative Aftercare culture focused on quality, responsiveness, and continuous improvement. REQUIREMENTS (ESSENTIAL) • Completed apprenticeship in Carpentry & Joinery (City & Guilds or NVQ). • Strong knowledge of fire door installation, maintenance, and defect remediation. • Proven experience supervising teams and coordinating multi-trade works. • Good IT literacy and ability to maintain trackers, records, and reports. • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and safe systems of work. • Relevant certifications (e.g., First Aid, Manual Handling, Health & Safety). • Full UK driving licence. DESIRABLE • BM TRADA / Q-Mark (or similar) fire door accreditation
