Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer Location: Bishop’s Stortford Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (7:00am – 7:00pm) Salary: £47,000 – £50,000 per annum Overtime: Flat rate OT available The Role We are looking for a proactive Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-paced manufacturing site within the food industry. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining, fault-finding, and improving automated production equipment to ensure maximum uptime and performance. You’ll be working on a modern, highly automated site with strong investment in machinery, controls, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on automated production machinery Electrical and mechanical fault finding on manufacturing equipment Diagnose and rectify faults on PLC-controlled systems (fault finding only) Work with sensors, drives, motors, pneumatics, and hydraulics Support continuous improvement and reliability improvements Ensure all work is completed in line with food safety, hygiene, and H&S standards Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and commissioning Accurately complete maintenance records and reports Skills & Experience Required Multi-skilled background (electrical bias preferred) Experience within a manufacturing environment (food or FMCG highly desirable) Strong fault-finding ability on automated machinery PLC fault finding experience essential Knowledge of sensors, relays, inverters, motors, and control panels Understanding of planned maintenance systems Ability to work independently and as part of a shift team Qualifications NVQ / City & Guilds / Apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) Relevant electrical qualifications (17th/18th Edition beneficial but not essential) What’s On Offer Competitive salary of £47k–£50k Flat-rate overtime available 4 on 4 off shift pattern (excellent work/life balance) Modern, automated manufacturing environment Ongoing training and development opportunities PLEASE APPLY NOW FOR AN INTERVIEW
