Assessment Social Worker London Borough of Havering Up to £37 per hour The London Borough of Havering is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assessment Social Worker to join their frontline team. This role is ideal for a practitioner who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering high-quality, child-centered assessments. The Role & Expectations As an Assessment Social Worker in Havering, you will be responsible for managing a manageable caseload (averaging 25 cases) during peak times, focusing on initial assessments and immediate safeguarding interventions. * Expert Assessment: Conducting robust, evidence-based assessments. * Legal Proficiency: Applying a deep understanding of the Children Act and child protection laws. * Direct Work: Engaging creatively and effectively with children. * Systems Management: Utilizing LiquidLogic for all case recording. Working Pattern & Logistics Havering offers a structured hybrid working model designed to balance team support with flexibility. This arrangement is stable and unlikely to change for at least the next 3 months. * Duty Weeks: 5 days in the office. * Off-Duty Weeks: 2 days in the office. * Equipment: Provided by the LA; must be collected from Town Hall. Requirements * Qualified Social Worker (Social Work England Registered). * Substantial experience specifically within Referral & Assessment teams. * Proven ability to work under pressure and meet statutory deadlines
